WD My Passport 2TB not Recognized by "Storage Spaces"

I have 3 x Western Digital 2 TB My Passports that I purchased to use with "Storage Spaces".

"Storage Spaces" does not recognize these drives but Windows 8 recognizes them under Computer.

The drives have an SES driver.

Has anyone figured out how to get them to be recognized by "Storage Spaces?

Milos,

Thank for the tutorial link.

I followed the directions in the tutorial but cannot get past the screen "Create a new pool and storage space" because the drives do not show up in the "Unformatted" or "Formatted" list of drives available to create a storage pool.

Note that the drives are USB 3.0 (USB 2.0 compatible) connected to my computer and are recognized by Windows 8 in "Computer".

I also have a WD Passport Essentials 1TB and a WD My Book Home Edition 1TB USB 2.0 connected that are not recognized by "Storage Spaces" but recognized by W8 "Computer".

WD indicated that these drives are simple external hard drives with an SES driver.

WD has recommended that this issue be brought to Microsoft's attention and that I return the newly purchased drives to the seller if I cannot get them to be recognized by "Storage Spaces".

I have also posted this issue on WD's support blog for the My Passport drives.

I am interested in initially creating an 6 TB + 250 GB hard drive (free space only) storage pool and eventually adding the 2 x 1TB drives for a final 8TB + 250 GB hard drive storage pool (Note that both the 2 x 1TB drives have data on them so I cannot use them in the storage pool until I move the data to the 6TB initial storage pool).

Any ideas on how to get the drives recognized?

Can you share output of the following command from an elevated powershell session?

I have this exact same issue trying to pool the same WD USB 3.0 drives, one being 3TB and the other 2TB. Do you want the output from the two PowerShell commands above from me?
